Hello, My name is Kevin L. Pederson and I construct each unique Abyss Custom Guitar by hand. I am 35 and live in Forest City, Iowa, with my wife and three kids. I have played guitars for 18 years and I am approaching ten years of instrument construction. I started Abyss Guitars because I wanted to build guitars for a living and I have this creative need that I just have to satisfy through guitar manufacturing. One of the things I love coming up with new ideas for the fingerboard. I strive to be courteous before, during and after the sale and I take steps to continue to learn in this field and construct each guitar better. The nature of this business is custom building and I feel it is important to develop a personal relationship with the customer. Simply put, my goal is to build the classiest guitars in the universe! I have set out to distance myself from other builders through my personal designs and intense unique instrument construction. Of all the particular designs here, I have chosen to keep certain classic elements, yet explore and conquer new and exciting concepts; in the process, creating several desirable instrument designs to choose from. I absolutely DO NOT want to be confused with ANY OTHER builders or companies. These are unique Abyss Custom Handmade Guitars, ONE AT A TIME!!

I started my craft in Febuary 1981 , after attending a class at Guitar Research and Design run by Charles Fox in South Strafford, Vt. The class instructor was George Morris.
Each of my instruments are one of a kind masterpieces. Cost will vary from one to the next depending on complexity.
The Lick En Stik is a travel, backup, or primary guitar. It is full scale, compacted and packed with sound. It has a built in amp and variable distortion control. The Lick En Stik can also be Parasited. Take it anywhere, up in the space shuttle or down in a submarine. Go for it!
