models -
b brass: a simple model using enveloped noise fed to a single resonance (tuned delay) after a tuned amplitude modulation to emulate lip vibrations used when playing brass.
· bowed : performance characteristics are similar to b_brass in the extreme simplification of the model.. i'm not particularly fond of the sound. the bowing 'strength' and 'speed' parameters can produce some very rosiny bow-scrapes, but ikaldor's 'sympho' is likely to be more of interest.
· plucked: a plucked string model.
· synger: a monophonic voice synthesizer comprising a basic 2 oscillator 'analog' model and three band filters. the lower keyboard controls pitch and the upper portion sets the phoneme. the right half of the gui lines up with logic's matrix editor for convenient selection of phoneme key. sounds like a 1980's home computer speech synthesizer thru a vocoder ...
· xotica: cheap & cheerful additive vibraphone emulation.. nothing novel, done for sake of convenience.
composition tools -
box: automatic drummer. 'analog' synth drums (kick, snare, c/o hihat, ride) with simple 'binary' oriented probability engine.. the .se1 file is included for customisation (ie. multiple outputs as per host, perhaps a 'cross-rhythm' probability circuit for 'jungle' derivitive styles ...).
qbrass: q engine with b_brass model.
qchanter: q engine with x_chanter voice model - this v. can lock/repeat phoneme sequences ...
qcussion: simple percussion q engine. more complex percussion sounds can be made by saving a patch and reopening it in two instances to ensure that they both play the same algorithmic sequence.
qeuro: captures and repeats motifs at transpositions for 'euro' style lines.
qpluck: plucked string model ...
scribe:
2 oscillator 'analog' synth engine with part-oriented probability functions. a neanderthal/monster circuit compared to qeuro.
shoggotah: an older 'plucked' string model with a more complex probability engine, with probabilities for passages to be less dense, played octaves higher or lower, et c. several random seeds are selected for 'riffing..' shoggoth will return to themes, occasionally seems eerily sentient. note that the triggered note relates to the tonic (although it's transposed by a few notes.. you'll have to figure it out ...).
x_chanter: this synger-derived 'algorithmic vocalist' uses a cut-down phoneme set roughly based on polynesian languages.
x_chanter differs from other algorithmic tools by employing lance putnam's henon oscillator; the henon equation being used to describe planetary orbits.
percussion synthesizers -
bitch: acoustic cymbal emulation with parameters for performance variation.
blaster: two sine oscs separately modulated with a pitch drop envelope and a filtered noise source, then filtered. the intention is to emulate two-headed acoustic drums. add another filtered noise source, seperately amplified, to emulate the snap.
block: minimal analog drum sounds developed from 'box' models.. i like cymbals, shaker, tambourine, 'toms/percussion'.
clanger: one of my earlier vsti, for analog hats.. uses multiple pulse oscillators through two filters in parallel like the 808, and modulates the pulsewidth unlike the 808. no comments on the gui.
kick: a simple sine drop kick, with bug free curve shaping, initial phase.
utopia: 'classic' hat synth. very old compile. intend to cautiously overhaul soon.
