Kevin Chilcott was apprentice to one of the luminaries of British Guitar making - Chris Eccleshall. After leaving his apprenticeship to become a Professional Luthier - between 1981 and 1989 it is estimated he "made by hand"(*) over 125 custom built guitars - Acoustic, Semi-Acoustic & Electric including 12 Thru-Neck Electric Basses. This averages over 15 guitars per year for the period, but
the first few years were very 'lean' as you would expect from a small new business, however over 40 were hand-built in the last 12 months of production between 1988 & 1989.

Guitarists are first of all inspired by beauty of sound, so I like my guitars to have an absolutely beautiful sound quality. For me, a classical concert guitar has to have a sound that is inspiring for the player. To play music in an interesting and emotional way, the guitarist must be able to make a sufficient difference between playing soft and playing loud. So I try to make guitars with a wide dynamic range.
What's Flamenco? Flamenco is one of the greatest musical forms of Europe. The roots of flamenco have evolved in southern Spain from many sources: Morocco, Egypt, India, Pakistan, Greece, and other parts of the Near and Far East. Daniele Chiesa was born in Bergamo, Italy in 1973; he has studied classical and jazz guitar since the age of 12. In 1994 he enrolled in the International Violin-making school of Cremona, learning traditional violin-making and repairing and building guitars in his own shop; he graduated in 1998 ...
In April 2002 he went back to Europe, this time to Spain, where he took a guitar making class in Cordoba with master guitarmaker Francisco Santiago Marin. He now resides in Granada, and continues to make fine concert classical guitars.
