Schafer Classical Guitars are built for a sonorous and beautiful quality of tone with adequate volume for a concert instrument. These instruments are built to maximize energy and increase efficiency. This is achieved by making certain areas heavy and strong while other areas are light and flexible. The ideal combination is achieved by weighing and measuring every component to a specific weight and dimension. All soundboard braces are weighed, measured and checked for strength prior to installation. Following completion, each soundboard is checked for strength and flexibility to insure responsiveness.

Pablo has worked with classical and flamenco guitars of well known makers who have created history. The makers who have influenced Pablo the most are Antonio de Torres, Santos Hernandez, Marcelo Barbero, Reyes and Hauser. To achieve the highest standards, Pablo personally selects all the woods for their individual qualities. Once in his workshop, they are stored to season to the optimum level to be used only when the wood is ready.
Pablo likes finishing his guitars in French polish, especially classical guitars as this enhances the sound and the beauty of the wood. For those in need of a more resistant finish he also offers polyurethane which is a high gloss finish, very tough and easy to maintain.
