Bob Morrison Orchestra:
Formed in 1997 in Victoria, B.C., the BOB MORRISON ORCHESTRA comprises ten musicians featuring our vocalist, recording artist Sue Doman. The orchestra specializes in music from the Swing Era of the 1930's and 1940's, but our extensive music library contains many songs from the 1950's and later. All the standard dances, waltz, foxtrot, quickstep, tango, rhumba, samba, cha-cha-cha, rock and jive are in our repertoire. Requesting that favourite songs be included in the performance, planning your event around a theme, or taking the opportunity to sing a ballad in front of the orchestra, are just a few of the possibilities to make your occasion memorable.
The configuration of vocalist, 3 rhythm, 3 brass and 3 reeds, emulates the composition of many Swing Era dance bands. This allows for a comfortable fit into most venues. The orchestra is completely self-contained, including a microphone which is available for use by your party.

The Blue Moon Howlers are a well traveled swing band playing many venues across the northwest. This is a band that, with great emotion and enthusiasm, conveys classic swing tunes in an authentic style, to jump swing, for a great night of dancing. The band solos a lot, gets the crowd involved on our "howling" theme song and really is what you are looking for on a swing dance. We dress like the forties, have these great classic band stand fronts, and are made up of some of the very best musicians and best known players from Washington state.

Big Chief is a band that expands from four to six pieces to suit the event. Formerly known as Big Chief and the Continentals the band was originated in 1989 and like good wine has grown better with age. The core members are Sam Hall, Jeff Davison, Dave Thibodeau and Steve Lynnworth. A keyboardist and a vocalist are added as requested and both positions are chosen from a field of star players. Within the four piece band there are four strong voices to create a unique variety of singing styles and harmonies. The backbone of the Big Chief sound emanates from the strong rhythm section making it easy for any of the hand picked guest musicians to easily find firm footing. The band visits many musical areas including swing era classics ala Ellington and Sinatra up to and including classic soul and rock favorites with a New Orleans party number thrown in to get the dance floor boiling. Somewhere up in heaven, right this very moment, there's an incredible jam session taking place. The group assembled represents some of the most talented and creative individuals ever to inhabit the planet. Though most would find it impossible to fathom, jazz legend Charlie Parker is weaving his intricate horn lines amidst the soulful vocal of country superstar Patsy Cline. The rhythm section, led by the late drummer, Philly Joe Jones, is swingin' in a manner only possible among those who have been freed from all physical constraints. Every now and again, Elvis himself (who never did have such constraints) appears at the microphone for a little hubba-hubba. And for those of you still wondering what ever happened to Glenn Miller that fateful night his plane disappeared, the truth is now revealed -- he got offered the job as bandleader for this unlikely melange of musical talent and had to fly off in a hurry for the first gig! ...
