Description
Bob Morrison Orchestra:
Formed in 1997 in Victoria, B.C., the BOB MORRISON ORCHESTRA comprises ten musicians featuring our vocalist, recording artist Sue Doman. The orchestra specializes in music from the Swing Era of the 1930's and 1940's, but our extensive music library contains many songs from the 1950's and later. All the standard dances, waltz, foxtrot, quickstep, tango, rhumba, samba, cha-cha-cha, rock and jive are in our repertoire. Requesting that favourite songs be included in the performance, planning your event around a theme, or taking the opportunity to sing a ballad in front of the orchestra, are just a few of the possibilities to make your occasion memorable.

The configuration of vocalist, 3 rhythm, 3 brass and 3 reeds, emulates the composition of many Swing Era dance bands. This allows for a comfortable fit into most venues. The orchestra is completely self-contained, including a microphone which is available for use by your party.

Victoria, British Columbia based 9-piece band with female vocalist playing music of the Swing Era. Includes profile, bandleader biography, repertoire and testimonials.

The Blues Jumpers, who have received glowing reviews nationwide, are now elevating their level of success by collaborating with critically acclaimed singer songwriter Haywood Gregory. The result of this union- a new CD entitled
Livin' Like A King.

Born in Savannah, Georgia, Haywood Gregory started singing in church at the age of seven. Soul, funk, rhythm, jazz and jump blues, Gregory has shared the stage with Bruce Springsteen, Carl Perkins, Bobby Watson and Tony Bennett to name a few. He has toured throughout the world, including performances at the Newport Jazz Festival (RI), the Lunt Fontanne Theatre (NY) and Donnerstag (Koln, Germany).

Gregory has been featured on countless recordings including Killer Joe's Scene of The Crime with Joe Delia, Max Weinberg, Branford Marsalis and others. In 1997 he recorded two CDs: the Last Concert CD with the legendary Eddie Harris and Bernard Purdie, and Haywood & Jeannie Gregory Swingin' with The Romero Brothers. He has toured with the Roy Gerson Orchestra and received glowing reviews, the New York Times calling him a "a strong-voiced singer…tireless vocalist who belts out the jump numbers that are the basis of the (Louis) Jordan repertoire."

The Blues Jumpers gained national attention in 1997 with the release of their debut CD Wheels Start Turning (Ridge Recordings) and the 1998 release Swingin' Holiday (National). Under the direction of band leader/drummer Joseph Geary, the band toured extensively and received crtical acclaim. Although Geary went through a series of different musicians, he managed to keep the sound consistent and the band's following in tact. "I've been fortunate to have worked with a lot of wonderful musicians. That's enabled me to bring together different people for our tours yet keep a solid sound."

The solo debut from singer/songwriter and former Indigo Swing frontman
Johnny Boyd is available online and in stores now!

Boyd is Back! After more than a year in the shadows, charismatic singer/songwriter and former Indigo Swing frontman Johnny Boyd returns with Last Word In, a new solo release on Cliffdive Records.

The inimitable Boyd, whose boyish visage recalls classic Hollywood, founded the critically acclaimed San Francisco band Indigo Swing in 1993, wrote the majority of the band’s original material, and inspired a new generation of music lovers in the recent retro swing movement.

Born in San Francisco and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Boyd began singing at age 10 with the Phoenix Boys Choir, and continued to perform with various high school and college music projects before returning to San Francisco to form Indigo Swing. After years of relentless touring throughout the U.S. and Europe, Boyd left his band last year to rest and pursue a solo music career. With over 100,000 Indigo Swing albums sold, 1,100 live performances to his credit, and thousands of devoted fans worldwide, Boyd's new release marks his sentimental return to popular music ...

This singer/song-writer and former front man for Indigo Swing has just released his first solo album. Real Audio samples, a biography, album reviews, and a newsletter subscription form are provided.
