Description
Welcome to the definitive Chris Allen Power Trip web site. The site has just went through a major update and continues to grow. Don't forget to check out the Music section for tracks I've posted from my new CD "Rock Machine" it's an Ultra Heavy, Blaze Infested, Rock Injected, InstruMENTAL Power Trip!
Playing guitar since age 13, Chris Allen is always trying to expand his musical ability by studying the styles of such artists as George Lynch, Randy Rhoads, Yngwie Malmsteen, Zakk Wylde, etc., as well as many Blues and Funk players from the 60's to present. "Ive got a HUGE list of musical influences and hero's and I draw from them all."

At an early age Chris has been influenced by music of all genres but when a 6th grade schoolmate introduced him to Van Halen's, Woman and Children First, Chris found direction and really gravitated toward guitar as his instrument of choice and vehicle for self _expression. After the first five years of being a self-taught guitar player, in the late 80's, Chris studied under Recording Artist/Berklee School of Music teacher, Joe Stump (www.JOESTUMP.com) for aprox. one year, played in a few local bands and really emersed himself in his playing and practice developing a unique blend of Rock, Funk, Metal and Blues.

Since 2000, Chris has auditioned for everything from 2nd Lead Guitar for none other than the Metal God himself, Rob Halford for his solo band HALFORD, to a Lead/Rhythm Guitar spot in a local production of the 1971, Andrew Lloyd Webber/ Tim Rice rock opera, JESUS CHRIST SUPER STAR. Chris has also recorded lead/rhythm tracks for a Rock/Blues compilation CD released in Europe (Jack Speciale-2003), and co-wrote and recorded a demonstration track for Long Sought For Sound, a local, Boston area recording studio. Chris has been interviewed live, at many Boston area radio stations who've aired his music and even used samples of his songs as backing tracks for their advertising. Chris' music has also been featured/played as far as Bryansk, Russia (BRYANSK AGRICULTURE ACADEMY-College radio station) and even reached "Top40" (out of 1000+) on the late MP3.com's INSTRUMENTAL METAL CHARTS, beating out some well known names in the guitar community.

After his positively received debut DEMO CD (2002) entitled, "TROUBLE ON THE HORIZON....." a compilation of old and new original InstruMENTAL compositions, Chris has just completed his ~follow-up~ release entitled, "ROCK MACHINE" featuring four new tracks, A new sound and a few new riffs but with the same formula which has generated a small but Devoted fan base all over the world including professional interest. Chris plans to self promote his works to gain notoriety among his peers and subsequent fans. With future goals of touring, pro recording, endorsements and major record deals, theres no telling what this determined, aspiring new comer will bring in the way of PURE ROCK AGGRESSION.

Impossible to categorize as a player, Adrian Legg incorporates virtually every genre on his guitar in a virtuosic instrumental style with effects. He brought electric approaches to acoustic playing, creating a modern cross-over amalgamation in the tradition of eclectic folk playing that goes back to the 1960s."

Tony Hallinan session guitarist, composer and recording studio owner.

Tony Hallinan’s melodic, instrumental rock guitar compositions immediately grab the listeners attention. Tony is a gifted composer with an ear for a catchy melody, perfectly complimenting the fire in his solos and improvised material. Elements of Tony’s style are reminiscent of Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Gary Moore, Brian May, Eddie Van Halen, Paul Gilbert and Jeff Beck. Tony began playing at the age of six and by the age of fourteen had achieved grade eight in classical guitar by which time he had begun to perform professionally as a session guitarist ...

Alan Prosser, Guitarist with the Oysterband:
Prosser is a polyglot stylist, he takes heed of much and creates a bag of tricks that sounds at once familiar yet new. And yes, it does come over as English, despite some of the 13 tracks being anchored in such disparate places as Canada, Scandinavia (my assumption that one), and Austria. In fact, throw in musicians digs, friendly kitchens and chummy firesides he has known, and this could be a `road' album. Mr. Prosser gives few hints he just plays.

It's a diverting selection that'll keep a grin of pure satisfaction on your face and a clear conscience about squeezing yet another fROOTS recommended album out of your current account. As his digits throw out different shapes and chase across the frets, finger - twisting bluesish runs on Canmore, Chunkily jigging Tanyardside (echoes of Brass Monkey), speedy riffery The Move, warm, medieval, courtly preciseness on William and Claire, reflective atmospherics in The Day is Ending. You wonder if there's anything he hasn't absorbed! His message; diversity is the creed ...

Rainer Rohloff Songs und Projekte. classical guitar player:
“…It must be a special feeling to be a German guitarist, to sit in an International orchestra and play Greek music.

Rainer Rohloff, born in 1959, had already been given guitar lessons at the age of seven and finished his studies at the University of Music”Musikhochschule Weimar”from which he graduated with diploma in 1981. Not only his educational background but his ability to have a distant view at the conventional classic guitar music allowed him to be engaged as permanent member of the orchestra of the Greek componist Mikis Theodorakis in 1988. Rohloff had stayed there for about ten years and joined a number of tours and recordings. During that time his idea to do a brave project grew which also shows deep admiration of Theodorakis: the arrangement of some of his songs and works for classic guitar music as a solo program in order to add it to the guitar repertoire…”
