Characteristically warm and punchy, Comins archtops possess a clear bottom and smooth, round high end. Their well-balanced response makes them ideal for chord/melody, straight-ahead jazz, and fingerstyle playing. Their voice is rich, complex, and simply magical.

I make guitars for concert musicians, professional teachers and keen enthusiasts, and have sent guitars to America, Japan, and throughout Europe and Scandinavia. The building of one of my guitars was the subject of the television documentary, The Guitarist and his Maker with recitalist Richard Durrant.

Gordon-Smith Guitars are Handcrafted guitars made in England in the small town of Partington near Manchester. Established for more than 25 years now, it is the longest running contemporary guitar company in England ...
Well, you already know without me telling you, that Gordon-Smith are individually hand crafted guitars. We used to say "Hand made", but apparently we're not allowed to say that now because we didn't actually chop the tree down ourselves, or something like that. Anyway, the good news is that, hand crafting a guitar means we start each guitar from the basic block of wood. That means that many of the options are no cost options. We don't add sneaky little surcharges just for the hell of it. If it doesn't cost us it doesn't cost you. Single or double cutaway, Rosewood fingerboard or our unique one piece Maple neck and left handed models (which normally attracts a sizeable surcharge). All these options are available at no extra cost.
Also if you want to change the specification slightly or even supply some of your own parts. Well OK, just run it past us. If we can't do it or think it's a bad idea or just a plain waste of your hard earned, we'll tell you ...
