Compressor 1.0 is a DirectX-plugin capable of compressing an input stream. It can process mono and stereo data of any format. To install the compressor, download and unzip the file below. Then you can either drag the comp.ax file in an open Sound Forge window, or you switch to your windows/system directory and type "regsvr32 c:\mypath\comp.ax". After this it will appear in all DirectX-compatible applications.

GComp2 is a compressor featuring a band-pass filter and a gate.
The compression is controlled with the Attack, Release and Compress parameters. The Compress parameter controls the compression curve, replacing the usual threshold and ratio parameters.
The level of the signal going into the compressor also affects the result. The Gain parameter controls the input gain. The Output parameter can be used to control the output level.
The gate is actually an expander, which turns the signal down when it drops below a given threshold. The Gate parameter sets that threshold.
Parameters
Gain: The gain applied to the incoming signal.
Lo Cut: Frequencies below this will be filtered out.
Hi Cut: Frequencies above this will be filtered out.
Attack: The compression attack time.
Release: The compression release time.
Compress: The compression amount.
Gate: The gate threshold.
Output: The gain applied to the signal before output.

MB ASC: Almost Soft Compressor:
This is my first attempt in comressor design.
The MB ASC uses a 1st degree polynom to calculate the
softness „curve“, which actually is a line and not a curve.
It has all controls you expect on a compressor
like attack, release etc ...
