Daniel Scott Guitars: the most beautiful guitar in the world, solid, f-hole through the body,
violin-archtop styled guitars, hidden electronics-no plastic covers, split humbuckers, contoured for comfort,
perfectly balanced and made to your specs.
I wanted an electric guitar, solid wood and heavy, but I didn't like the models available, especially the two most popular. I sat down on my computer and drew the drawing you see in the background. For the body I combined the basic guitar shape with violin cutouts and through the body, thick f-holes, for vintage styling. I never liked the plastic covers of pickgaurds used to hide the electronics, even nice wood plates took away the beauty of the front and back. I decided to hide the electronics through a thick maple cap located on the lower side of the guitar. The pickguard is made of veneer to match the faceplate of the headstock. An oversized paddle style headstock perfectly balances the guitar ...
Maton: guitar maker: The Maton name is a derivative of the words “May” and “Tone”.
Until the mid 1930s an Australian guitar manufacturing industry was virtually nonexistent. Good quality guitars were
hard to find and at this time the best
guitars came from the U.S.A. Bill May, a Melbourne-born jazz musician, woodwork teacher and luthier decided to change all that.
During the early 1940s Bill established a custom guitar manufacturing and repair business known as “Maton Stringed Instruments and Repairs”. This
enterprise was so successful that Bill was able to convince his older brother, Reg,
to join him as a full time guitar maker
and in March 1946 the “Maton Musical Instruments Company” was born.
Maton is still a 100% family owned Australian company, now operated by
Linda & Neville Kitchen (Bill May’s
daughter and son in law). Showing great faith in the potential of the company, Bill opened up Australia’s first major guitar making facility in Canterbury, Melbourne,
in 1949. More than 300 different models were created at the Canterbury factory,
a staggering testimony to the creativity
of the Maton team from that era ...

Stephan Connor, Guitar Maker:
build guitars in the Spanish style, which are customized to satisfy the desires of each individual musician ...
My structural and aesthetic designs are influenced by great makers from the past such as Simplicio, Hauser I and Torres. In general, my guitars are lightly built, the tops are usually fan braced and the neck to body join is spanish-heel construction. The strings are individually compensated for improved intonation and all instruments are finished with a French polish of shellac.
I make my own mosaic rosettes and encourage design input from the customer. Making rosettes is an art in itself which I enjoy a great deal. Mosaics surrounding the perimeter of the soundboard are available at additional cost ...
I use the finest wood available which has been seasoned in a humidity-controlled environment ...
The neck is made of Spanish Cedar or Mahogany, the fingerboard of Ebony, the bracing stock is split from Spruce billets and the bridge is made of Brazilian Rosewood ...
GH Services : BassLab Custom Guitars and Basses.
These amazing musical instruments are hand-made by Heiko Hoepfinger and his team at BassLab in Germany. GH Services is the exclusive dealer and distributor for BassLab Instruments in Canada and the United States.
Heiko uses his own high-tech composite material to create a strong monocoque structure, or hollow shell, throughout the entire instrument. The body and neck are one piece, so there are no dead spots and the tone is uniform all over. The light weight improves the ratio of string-to-body mass, which means that the acoustic body influences the sound quality of the instrument more than heavy wood, resulting in a bigger and tighter low end. And these instruments aren't affected by the weather - they stay in tune ...
