Eric Monrad, Luthier:
Fine hand-built classical and flamenco guitars.
My guitars are concert-quality instruments with a clear, concentrated sound and plenty of volume for concert hall performances. They are known for their responsiveness and playability. My instruments are designed to have strong, rich trebles, consistent up the neck and balanced with the basses and midrange. Equally important are sensitivity, sustain, dynamic range, and a clear separation of voice ...
I was born in South Dakota in 1953 and have spent most of my life working wood. My father was a housebuilder and cabinetmaker who put me to work at a young age. I began building nylon-string guitars in 1992, although I have built and repaired other fretted instruments since the mid-1970s. When my daughter began to study flamenco dance ten years ago, I became fascinated by the flamenco guitar, and still am. My first nylon-string guitars were flamencos. Now that I build mostly classical guitars, that experience has proven valuable in many ways, especially in achieving a quick attack and an easy playability ...

Edward E. Kalil: Fine Handcrafted Guitars.
I am a Luthier who builds instruments to custom order. Guitars: Acoustic Steel/Nylon string and Solid body electrics.

I started my craft in Febuary 1981 , after attending a class at Guitar Research and Design run by Charles Fox in South Strafford, Vt. The class instructor was George Morris.

Each of my instruments are one of a kind masterpieces. Cost will vary from one to the next depending on complexity.
The Lick En Stik is a travel, backup, or primary guitar. It is full scale, compacted and packed with sound. It has a built in amp and variable distortion control. The Lick En Stik can also be Parasited. Take it anywhere, up in the space shuttle or down in a submarine. Go for it!

Griffin String Instrument:
Griffin offers four basic body style models, each available with either of two standard wood options.
Born in 1952, Kim Griffin was surrounded by the beautiful instruments of classical violinist Virginia Farmer (neighbor/extended family member). He remembers the baby grand piano and priceless violins being played for hours; attending symphony and recitals as a very young lad. "This was my early connection with music," Kim explains.

Then, at about the age of 9, his parents bought Kim his first guitar (a Harmony flat top). "I made lots of noise with it, till one day I saved up enough money for a new Guild. Dad paid for lessons. My sister and I played in the local folk circuit, she with her D-18 and I would sometimes use dad's D-35." After that, barroom blues/rock, then into bluegrass with Marc Chevalier and a short stint with Frank Wakefield.

In 1975 he decided to do something constructive with information gained from the variety of musical styles he'd been exposed to. So he began repairing fiddles and guitars. In 1977 he attended The School of Guitar Research and Design in Vermont, taught by Charles Fox and George Morris. Continuing on from there he built individual commissioned instruments (some experimental), hammered dulcimers, banjos, mandolins as well as repairs ...
