Duran Audio, established in 1981, is a company strongly based on research. A unique line of self-powered sound reinforcement products have been developed over the years, serving many different customers to their full satisfaction. Phoenix Audio International (UK) was originally formed in July 1996 by Shaun Leveque to provide a British service for owners of pre 1980 Neve recording consoles.
After spending a number of successful years maintaining and modifying recording consoles, Shaun decided to design and produce a range of high quality, Class A, discrete products that would be a valuable addition to any recording studio.
At the forefront of circuit design is David Rees. David is an ex-Neve design engineer with an impressive array of designs to his credit. Probably the most famous design is the Neve 2254 Limiter/compressor.
Our range of products are designed, built and wired in-house by professional wiremen and engineers with many years experience that take great pride in the quality of their craftsmanship. We aim to produce First Class, Class A, discrete equipment that is fully backed by a growing network of distributors based across Europe and the USA.
Phoenix Audio (UK) products are unique, original and are carefully and expertly designed to combine the advantages of many years of audio experience with today's component and manufacturing technology.

These were my father’s words when he founded the legendary Universal Recording Corp. in Chicago. The enduring quality of his recordings, studios and technical innovations are the reason industry veterans consider him the father of modern recording. But he was also my father.

Having grown up in the music industry, we naturally assumed that’s where we would remain. Jim, a touring musician and recording engineer, and our older brother Scott, a busy studio designer in Southern California, were the first to follow in my father’s path. I took a more circuitous direction, working in a number of engineering companies before undertaking my doctorate in Electrical Engineering at Stanford. It was there that I became closely involved in the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA), specializing in signal processing ...
