Description
Echolive:
I built this plug-in for a live performance at the Bazillus Club in Zurich. It features a tap tempo function which makes it easy to create echoes that fit the timing of a live band.
the delay time can be defined by tapping the tempo with the mouse or on a midi keyboard or midi controller
alternatively the delaytime can also be set manually or synchronized with the host application.
latency compensation: you can compensate your soundcard's latency for perfectly timed echoes in live applications.
tape model including tape saturation, tape hiss, wow & flutter, low and high pass filtering, smooth parameter for continuous delay time changes like on a real tape delay
stereo-control: ping pong delay, time symmetry, stereo width
all parameters are controllable by midi controllers.
pop-up hints help to understand the function of each control on the user interface. These appear when the mouse rests over a control.

ANALOGIC DELAY
This plug-in mimicks the tape delay in Logic Audio. I created it on request from a friend who switched to another sequencer software after Logic's discontinuation on the PC platform.

This enhanced version of the Analogic Delay gives you separate control over the delay times on left and right channel. suitable for ping pong delays and drifting delays

"Drift" parameter gives you the possibility to create delays wandering to the left or to right in the stereo field
press the "Ping Pong" button to create delays alternating between left and right speaker.

ECHOMANIA
Besides being a CPU hog this plug-in goes further than most (all?) real tape delay machines. It's capable of stereo delays, ping pong delays, multitap delays and complex delay textures.

Narcissus + ECho is a freeware FSU delay plug-in.

Narcissus + Echo is an FSU-style delay plug-in.
Unless you load the preset bank (manually, through your host, it won't load on itself by default) it'll probably just feed back and scream at you.
Narcissus + Echo is complexly modulated by the audio that is input into it, as well as modulating various part of itself. There are many unseen bits of kit under the hood that you can't control, they're just hard-wired. I figured that way there'd be some chance of making it make good sounds without carefully testing a billion possibilities amongst the interelated parameters.
Possible sounds include sea-sickness chorus, long, modulated dub delays, hissing sounds, short, bouncing ball-type echoes, vurt is a hippie, and swirling walls of psychedellic madness.
Narcissus + Echo is constructed upon 3 main signal pathways, each output of which has it's own mix level controller.
Path A is the main delay line. It has up to 1500 ms of delay. That delay time, as well as it's feedback, can be modulated by either the LFO, the ADSR, the Envelope Follower or the Zero-Crossing Detector. The settings for these features do not have controls. The LFO's pulse width, frequency and offset parameters are themselves modulated by the other three modulators. The Envelope Follower converts the incoming audio's amplitude into a control voltage. The Zero-Crossing Detector outputs a control voltage every time the incoming audio crosses the zero point of the wave, therefore more complex sounds (such as woodwind multiphonics, raspier singing or cybals) created a higher modulation level ...

Die Delaytime kann entweder über den Potentiometer oder falls eine genauere Eingabe gewünscht wird auch über das darunter liegende Eingabefeld gesetzt werden. Der mögliche Bereich liegt zwischen 0 und 1000 Millisekunden.
Der Feedback Regler ist in Prozent einstellbar und bestimmt den Faktor mit dem das verzögerte Signal multipliziert und zum neu entstandenen Originalsignal addiert wird.
Hier ist etwas Vorsicht geboten, besonders in Verbindung mit höheren Cross – Feedbackwerten und großem Feedbackwert, da sich Endlosschleifen bilden können. Der mögliche Wertbereich liegt zwischen 0 und 99.

4. tom pong
Tom Pong is a ping pong delay VST Plugin. Currently it's Windows only, but a Mac version is will be here shortly. A ping pong delay is a delay which alternates from one speaker to another. If the balance is set to 0.5, a stereo signal will invert itself each time the delay buffer is played back. If the balance is set to either side of 0.5, the signal bounces back and forth between the speakers. Tom Pong can be synced to the host sequencer, or delay times can be set by sample count. Feedback and output level are also adjustable.
Tom Pong is free, so enjoy!
Oh, and the knobs are snapple caps. They say "You have to play ping-pong for 12 hours to lose one pound"...it seemed fitting.
