This is the Official Website of Singer, Songwriter David Wilcox.
David Wilcox/Nance Pettit Biography:

After a total of 12 albums released between them, 11 for David (4 on A&M Records, 3 on Koch Records, 2 on Vanguard Records, and 2 on What Are Records?) www.davidwilcox.com, and 1 for Nance, 1995’s Skin and Water, (Fresh Baked Records), it seemed somewhat inevitable that eventually they would do one together.

But they tell the story best:

“This is the blossom. It’s what all your music has been leading toward.” These words surprised us, but we couldn’t deny the way these poems seemed to mysteriously bloom into music. When we sang them for our friend Rich Hordinski who had produced David’s most recent CD, he said that he would love to work on this next one. We said that we didn’t have any plans to record the poems, they were just an offshoot of our love of singing together.

Someone had given us a collection of mystic poetry for Christmas, and in the evenings by the fire when our son was in bed, we had fun finding melody and chords that seemed to open up the meaning of these ancient poems. The arrangements evolved through singing them together round and round as we switched harmonies. The way they came to life was remarkable ...

An acoustic guitarist with a very pretty tone, Earl Klugh does not consider himself a jazz player and thinks of Chet Atkins as being his most important influence. Klugh played on a Yusef Lateef album when he was 15 and gained recognition in 1971 for his contributions to George Benson's White Rabbit record. He played regularly with Benson in 1973, was a member of Return to Forever briefly in 1974, and then in the mid-'70s, began recording as a leader. After a couple well-received solo albums on different Capitol imprints including Blue Note, Klugh hit pay dirt with 1979's One on One, a Grammy-winning collaboration with pianist Bob James. More solo albums followed before the sequel to One on One, Two of a Kind, appeared in 1982. In 1984 he changed labels and released one of his most popular albums, Soda Fountain Shuffle, on Warner Brothers. Klugh made his biggest artistic impression yet in 1989 with the self-explanatory Solo Guitar. Two years later he would return to the "serious jazz" repertoire of Solo Guitar, but this time with bassist Ralphe Armstrong and drummer Gene Dunlap on the acoustic bebop outing The Earl Klugh Trio, Vol. 1. Cool from 1992 found him working with Bob James again and was followed by three more smooth releases for the Warner Brothers family before the jump was made to Windham Hill with 1999's Peculiar Situation. Compilations, live albums, appearances with others, and reissues filled the years leading up to 2005's Naked Guitar, a stripped down, standards-heavy album for the Koch label. ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide.

Tony McManus: guitarplayer:
virtuosity from the soul.
To find a unique voice on so ubiquitous an instrument as the acoustic guitar is quite
an achievement: to do so within a centuries old idiom where the instrument has no real history is truly remarkable. In little over ten years as a professional musician Tony McManus has come to be recognised throughout the world as the leading guitarist in Celtic Music. From early childhood his twin obsessions of traditional music and acoustic guitar have worked together to produce a startlingly original approach to this ancient art. In Tony’s hands the complex ornamentation normally associated with fiddles and pipes are accurately transferred to guitar in a way that preserves the integrity and emotional impact of the music.
Self taught from childhood, initially through listening to the family record collection, McManus abandoned academia in his twenties to pursue music full time. The session scene in Glasgow and Edinburgh provided the springboard for gigs around Scotland and a studio set for BBC Radio, frequently rebroadcast, began to spread the word.

With the loyal support of Greentrax Recordings in Scotland Tony’s first self titled recording in 1996, followed by Pourquoi Quebec in 1999 led to worldwide recognition ...
