Lieber Instruments is a guitar company founded by Thomas Lieber, a Designer/Builder, who has been crafting guitars since 1971. While still considered new in the industry, Tom became involved with some recording and performance giants. In 1974, while with Doug Irwin, Tom shared design credit for guitars going to Jerry Garcia and Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead. The following year, also with Irwin, he designed and built a custom bass for Pete Sears, of the Jefferson Starship. Stein, Giger & Lieber
The Sears project required several design sessions with Pete. Many good things came as a result of these sessions: Pete had a beautiful bass, Tom and Pete became good friends, and Tom realized he could hold design sessions with recording artists - really listen to the artists’ needs, and, with his innovative ingenuity, he could build them an instrument they loved! At the same time he could push the envelope of guitar building a little further. From this point on, the company began a long run of patented innovations ...

Greg S. Brandt specializes in the handcrafting of nylon-string guitars.
In 1977, I found a book in the library on classical guitar makers, and it occurred to me: people, not machines, build guitars! I had been playing from the time I was a kid and I thought it would be fun to play a guitar that I made, so I built one for myself. Of course I never thought I would make another one after it! Since then I have studied the craft of lutherie, and found an unexpected passion and career.
For more than 25 years I have specialized in the construction of nylon stringed guitars. My instruments have been played by many highly respected musicians, in many genres, including classical, jazz, and contemporary. They have been played on numerous recordings and on many motion picture soundtracks including "Goodfellas," "The Straight Story," "Blade Runner," "Field of Dreams," "Godfather 3," "Seabiscuit," and "The Mexican."
build a limited number of instruments per year. Each guitar is built one at a time, which allows me to produce instruments with exceptional tonal balance, clarity, and energy. All woods have been air dried in my shop for many years, and are of the highest quality available. All woods used for the back and sides are carefully matched for color and grain pattern. All guitars are delivered in a arched-top hard shell case, and are guaranteed in every aspect of construction and craftsmanship.

John Bogdanovich is a builder of fine custom-made, concert classical guitars. John's shop is located on Northern California coast. A player for over 30 years, and a professional woodworker, John's understanding of the instrument and demands on the performer, as well as the craft, contribute to the quality of his guitars.
As a player I am always conscious of the demands of the concert performer and his or her setting. The instrument must provide enough volume to reach the back seats without undue effort on the part of the player, yet possess a rich, refined tone which is balanced and full. The instrument must have structural integrity yet be lightweight. For me one of the most important things besides the sound , is the playability of the instrument. A great instrument should not be a struggle to play, and should feel good in your hands. Great attention has been paid to every detail in the design of my instruments to assure the player the greatest comfort in playing without compromising sound quality.
