From jazz guitar legend to soul-pop vocalist extraordinaire, 8-time Grammy® winner George Benson has cultivated an international fan base as well as tremendous critical acclaim for three things: incomparable versatility, first-class execution in all he does and, perhaps most importantly, for never being predictable. These are the qualities that have made the man a one-of-a-kind giant in the universe of music, thus lending a fitting ring to the title of his fourth album for GRP/Verve, Irreplaceable. It is an emotional gemstone of seemingly effortless consistency for the superstar who has been dominating the worlds of smooth jazz and NAC radio. Irreplaceable marks a directional shift back to silky sexy soul music…with a decidedly contemporary urban edge....

Welcome to the definitive Chris Allen Power Trip web site. The site has just went through a major update and continues to grow. Don't forget to check out the Music section for tracks I've posted from my new CD "Rock Machine" it's an Ultra Heavy, Blaze Infested, Rock Injected, InstruMENTAL Power Trip!
Playing guitar since age 13, Chris Allen is always trying to expand his musical ability by studying the styles of such artists as George Lynch, Randy Rhoads, Yngwie Malmsteen, Zakk Wylde, etc., as well as many Blues and Funk players from the 60's to present. "Ive got a HUGE list of musical influences and hero's and I draw from them all."
At an early age Chris has been influenced by music of all genres but when a 6th grade schoolmate introduced him to Van Halen's, Woman and Children First, Chris found direction and really gravitated toward guitar as his instrument of choice and vehicle for self _expression. After the first five years of being a self-taught guitar player, in the late 80's, Chris studied under Recording Artist/Berklee School of Music teacher, Joe Stump (www.JOESTUMP.com) for aprox. one year, played in a few local bands and really emersed himself in his playing and practice developing a unique blend of Rock, Funk, Metal and Blues.
Since 2000, Chris has auditioned for everything from 2nd Lead Guitar for none other than the Metal God himself, Rob Halford for his solo band HALFORD, to a Lead/Rhythm Guitar spot in a local production of the 1971, Andrew Lloyd Webber/ Tim Rice rock opera, JESUS CHRIST SUPER STAR. Chris has also recorded lead/rhythm tracks for a Rock/Blues compilation CD released in Europe (Jack Speciale-2003), and co-wrote and recorded a demonstration track for Long Sought For Sound, a local, Boston area recording studio. Chris has been interviewed live, at many Boston area radio stations who've aired his music and even used samples of his songs as backing tracks for their advertising. Chris' music has also been featured/played as far as Bryansk, Russia (BRYANSK AGRICULTURE ACADEMY-College radio station) and even reached "Top40" (out of 1000+) on the late MP3.com's INSTRUMENTAL METAL CHARTS, beating out some well known names in the guitar community.
After his positively received debut DEMO CD (2002) entitled, "TROUBLE ON THE HORIZON....." a compilation of old and new original InstruMENTAL compositions, Chris has just completed his ~follow-up~ release entitled, "ROCK MACHINE" featuring four new tracks, A new sound and a few new riffs but with the same formula which has generated a small but Devoted fan base all over the world including professional interest. Chris plans to self promote his works to gain notoriety among his peers and subsequent fans. With future goals of touring, pro recording, endorsements and major record deals, theres no telling what this determined, aspiring new comer will bring in the way of PURE ROCK AGGRESSION.

Chris Bitten:
Listening and talking to Chris gives you the first impression that he is truly a jazz artist, soft spoken and humble, Chris believes that one has to remember where you come from in order to know where you are going, and in his own words he would tell you that, “there's no future without a past”.
A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Chris had a natural affinity for music. He began tinkering with drums at the age of six, and eventually taught himself to play. One day while his dad was playing the organ after church service , friends and family gathered around, Chris was moved by the music, he slipped over to the drums and started playing along with his dad, everyone was truly amazed at this little kid, even though it seemed like the drum sticks were bigger than him, it was like the service had started all over again.
This seemed to have opened the door way to the beginnings of his music career, Chris was now the regular drummer for his church and was also hired by many choirs through out the Birmingham area. Chris became very popular in the church community and more surprises were in store for everyone as he matured and seasoned. He wrote and produced a song entitled "Lord l Try" that received air play on local gospel radio stations for a group which he named "The Bitten's “ which consisted of his two younger brothers.
Chris moved on to venture the world of music, and it was then that he formed the jazz band "Xpoz'd" which received great reviews in local newspapers and was chosen to entertain the Olympic committee which hosted the world soccer games in Alabama. During this time he met and recorded with jazz recording artist Eric Essix who featured Chris on a tune entitled "Out Da Frame" ...
