We are commited to only the HIGHEST QUALITY MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS, and you can tell when you play on a Carlson instrument. Our products are made under the strictest quality control, and our woods are aged naturally to ensure strength, consistancy, and tone. Kiln drying (a large room that has hot air pushed through to dry the woods) is not as favorable as the NATURAL PROCESS since Kiln dried instruments tend to warp and the woods are weaker from the sudden lack of moisture. WE DO NOT KILN DRY OUR WOODS! Since kiln dried woods are inferior to NATURALLY DRIED WOODS, our instruments have major advantages (SUCH AS OPTIMAL TONE AND DURABILITY) over our competition! Thank you for visiting my web site! I started building custom instruments in San Luis Obispo in a small shop of 750 square feet. In November 2001 I moved to the mountains of Northern California, to a place called North San Juan located about 16 miles northeast of Nevada City, CA and just a few hours from San Francisco, The area is rich with the Yuba river national forests with pine, cedar, oak, madrone trees, manzanita, and lots of wild life including bears. Visitors are welcome by appointment. At some point I'll post pictures of the new space and continue to update the rest of my web site as time permits. I also play music and will be dedicating more time for recording.
I began building electric guitars in high school in Redding, California. I built 3 guitars before I joined the Army as a cook for 2 years. After the Army I used the college fund to study electronic engineering, and continue building guitars. I built my first bass with Greg Coates who also was the bassist for our improv rock band called So What. Greg has been and still is an inspiration. Greg is currently touring with Bird 3 ...
