Michael Cone Classical Guitars: Exceptional hand made classical guitars by Michael Cone, with images, MP3 files, and links to luthier tools and supplies.
The designs of my guitars are based on the patterns of Torres and Hauser and are tailored to each individual. A guitar for concert performance must be able to produce the desired sound effortlessly. From the clarity, sustain, tone quality, volume, projection, evenness and balance, to the playability and aesthetics, these are instruments suitable for concert hall or recording studio.
I began building musical instruments in 1968. Initially inspired by the sound of Julian Bream playing a Bouchet, I finished my first classical guitar in 1969. Early influences included Pagés, Torres, Panormo, Fleta, and Hauser. Through the fortuitous circumstance of finding an 1803 Juan Pagés guitar at a garage sale in Maine, I was able to examine one of the earliest examples of five fan bracing as well as 18th century building techniques first hand ...

Rene Wilhelmy, Luthier:
René Wilhelmy studied classical guitar at the Institut Marguerite Bourgeois with guitarist Jean Vallières. During this training, he learned instrument making on his own, thus launching his career as a luthier. Two grants, one from the Canada Council and the other from the Office franco-québécois, enabled him to hone his skill, and his travels in Europe brought him into contact with major luthiers and guitarists. With his solid experience acquired over the years, Wilhelmy has become a prominent luthier.
While he works on historic guitar models, René Wilhelmy also experiments with building more modern instruments, such as folk guitars and electric guitars. To date, he has produced nearly one hundred instruments, including lutes, folk and electric guitars, and more than seventy-five classical guitars. These instruments, many of which are owned by award-winning musicians, are widely admired as much for their artistic beauty as for their fine tone.

After more than 35 years of experience as guitarmaker and founder partner of
prestigious companies, Antonio Aparicio, has acquired in his new professional step the
commitment of reaching the highest quality in the instruments with his signature.
In our new workshop, we have joined the best craftsmanship of our workers with the
advantages that offers the advanced technology applied to our first ambition: To build
guitars with the best sound and tone, with the best woods, materials and with the greatest
finish and beaty.
Any guitar of our catalogue, from the Standard series to the Signature series, is built
with solid top and varnished with the traditional finish, not with polyester. Our new finish
provides a better looking of the wood, a great sonority, and a brillant and bigger sound.
Each model has been designed thinking in the performance qualities that the player is
going to requiere to the guitar. For this reason, we have included several bracings and
the most appropiate woods for getting the sounding features that define each model.
Different inner compositions and the combination of the woods in the construction
make each guitar special.
We have selected the best woods around the World, the best crafstmen and we have
put a lot of daydreaming and ideas for building the best Guitars.
