The ladies trio was formed under the direction of EVELYN DUNCAN, manager, in 1983. Over the years sometimes the trio turned into a quartet and sometimes even a quintet. But even within these we still kept some songs as a ladies trio. At this time we are looking for a female lead singer. If anyone is interested or if you know of someone who might be, please let us know. Right now our current group is WANEATA ROWLANDS singing low alto, her husband, MELVIN ROWLANDS singing lead and some bass and EVELYN DUNCAN singing tenor.
Their desire and prayer is that those whom they minister to will know the warmth, joy and love of Christ through trusting and serving Him as their personal Savior ...
The official site of the Soul Gospel Group, Nu TestAment from Jacksonville, Florida. Site contains group bio, schedule contact and product information.
It all began in 1995 when the young Nu TestAment was called to spread their God-given talents with a very well-known group that went by the name of The Supreme Stars.
Nu TestAment would perform popular music with The Supreme Stars at local churches and related events. As they matured with The Supreme Stars, they began to explore the gospel field and would later start to write and arrange more and more of their own music.
In 1997 The Supreme Stars recorded their first album with the young Nu TestAment entitled "Daddy's Songs", which featured the co-production of Mr. Jeffrey Newberry of the world renowned Gospel Keynotes.
By 1999, their success in their hometown of Jacksonville, Florida had become so great, they would find their calendar of bookings quickly beginning to overflow, but tragically, their tables began to turn. Their lives would do the same, but they were too determined. God had begun to call his ministers of the gospel music realm home. After singing for over 35 years (The Supreme Stars) it was now time for Nu TestAment to keep God's gospel ball rolling ...
Jars of Clay is comprised of Dan Haseltine, lead vocals, Stephen Mason, guitar/ background vocals, Matt Odmark, electric and acoustic guitars/background vocals, and Charlie Lowell, piano and keyboards/background vocals. Jars of Clay takes its name from II Corinthians 4:7. "We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us."
Jars of Clay began in 1990 when a band of eager, but completely unprepared, young musicians came together in a sort of "dormitory acoustic group" at Greenville College in Illinois. Not even thinking about an actual career in music, they began to write songs more for the fun of it than anything. For even a little more entertainment, they decided to submit a demo to a national new artist competition. Three million records later, the music of that unassuming group of college buddies is heard around the globe. And the band, filling store shelves and the hearts of millions, is Jars of Clay ...
