A complete Custom Guitar Shop offering the best in repairs, restorations, and custom instruments, in the Los Angeles area.
Country, Jazz, Blues, Rock, Classical, Folk, and Fusion, all require different approaches to stringed musical instruments. Each style has its own balance of woods, strings, acoustics, and electronics. By working with many top guitarists and bassists from around the world, we have developed repair and customizing techniques to meet the high quality demands for both studio and stage instruments.
Our product development has resulted in superior acoustical instrument pickups and electronic interfacing. Electric guitars and basses, too, have benefited from our many upgrades and pickup systems, for example, noise reducing methods which provide superior signal quality as well as hum canceling. We discovered long ago that no amount of signal processing can make up for an instrument which doesn't sound right; if you get it right at the source, the rest is easy.
Our experience with manufacturers has taught us one very important lesson: they always accept compromises! For many reasons, good designs are often lost in the production stage. Some ideas might prove to be too labor intensive; or perhaps their suppliers can't deliver and they must accept parts substitutions. All too often manufacturers don't understand how real musicians use their products on stage or in the studios. This leaves room for many aftermarket modifications, and that is where we at Neely Custom Guitars come in... working for you! ...
What is most striking is the consistent quality of tone from one of Ray's instruments to the next. He has been able to develop a tonal signature that takes into account the individual characteristics of each piece of wood to create a remarkably complex acoustic chamber
capable of producing rich musical tones. This consistency is very important to buyers of
custom-made instruments.
One of the best practitioners in the art of mandolin and guitar construction today is Ray Dearstone, who has been
making mandolins and guitars for over eighteen years.
Ray's approach to building these instruments is not radical. He adheres to time-proven methods, with great respect for the classic designs. Ray builds mandolins, archtop guitars, and violins in the traditional way, applying great skill to carefully hand-carve the arched top and back, a process that tunes the instrument's body to its most resonant pitch. This critical step is required to deliver volume and tonal complexity.mandolin, guitar, violin, mandolins, guitars, violins, electric,

Queensland based African guitar importers, purchase afri-can guitars online, shopping for guitars made from oil cans.
Afri-can Guitars is the brain child of Graeme Wells, an engineer residing in Cape-Town, South-Africa.
Graeme became aware that there was a need for an environmentally friendly guitar using predominantly re-cycled products and keeping the use of wood to a minimum.
The idea of using a 5 litre oil can is not new as it has been used since the introduction of the oil can back in the early 1900's. Graeme took it to the next level though with the development of an aluminium neck and noiseless pick-ups.
The instrument now has a unique sound of it's own and is carving a place for itself on the world stage ...

Daryl Perry Fine Classical Guitars:
A Perry guitar represents excellence in design, materials and craftsmanship. It's the product of a deep commitment to make the most complete musical instrument possible, one with potential for the full range of musical experience.
A Perry guitar is powerful enough for the concert hall. It possesses clarity and focus for both performance and recording, and intimacy, presence and beauty for the player alone.
Perry guitars are played by professional musicians and serious students in Canada, the United States and Europe.
Welcome to this site. Please get in touch if you have further questions.
Perry guitars have a full, open sound with basses that are crisp and deep, and a clear, singing treble. They are light and responsive, with a broad dynamic range and extensive tone colours.
Perry guitars are made with only the highest quality of materials that are well-aged and assembled in a humidity controlled environment. They are also made with the highest level of craftsmanship. To that end, I work alone, carrying out all aspects of the guitar's construction, and produce a very limited number of instruments each year.
My high standards of craftsmanship apply to all areas of the guitar--structural integrity, playability, aesthetic considerations (form, decorative motifs, inlay, marquetry, etc.). They also apply to quality of sound which is my primary concern. In addition to those qualities already mentioned, I strive for excellent balance from string to string and note to note with a quick response and even sustain ...
