PASTE is one of the fastest-growing independently published entertainment magazines in the country, receiving "Magazine of the Year" honors at the 2007 and 2006 PLUG Independent Music Awards. We pride ourselves in being the premier magazine for people who still enjoy discovering new music, prize substance and songcraft over fads and manufactured attitude, and appreciate quality music across a broad stylistic spectrum--indie rock, Triple-A, Americana, folk, blues, jazz, etc.
We strive to bring readers thoughtful analysis on the best in film, books and other aspects of popular (and alternative) culture. PLUS, every issue of PASTE contains a FREE sampler CD (packed with 20+ songs). The Paste Sampler CD is an invitation-only CD we treat as a glorified office mix-tape, not something to listen to once and rip the two or three good songs. What more could you want? (OK, maybe a free subscription. We'll try to get it bundled in with universal health care, how's that?)

What is "Nude As The News"? With respect to Cat Power, from whom we lifted the title, it's our online living room, where we can hold forth on our favorite musics with the wide-open audience of the Internet. Born in early 1999 from the computers of a couple recent Indiana University graduates, the site was started so that we could have a forum to write about music in our spare time and not be beholden to any sort of sponsorship or undue outside influence. Meaning: no ads, all editorial content.
All the writing you'll find on this site is essentially created by a group of friends, and an extended NATN family that has grown out of our readership. Nobody gets paid to do any of this stuff — it is wholly a labor of love, and stands as our collective tribute to the world of audio art. We all have day jobs and full lives, so the fact that NATN still exists is due entirely to the dedication of its writers and contributors over the years, and the music our favorite artists make, which spurs us on to comment, analyze and celebrate.
