Orpheus Acoustics is I, Christopher Brooks (with some help). I am an acoustical consultant, specializing in architectural acoustics, which includes room acoustics and noise measurement and control, with a passion for live performance in intimate spaces with wonderful acoustics.
My experience as a professional violinist and as a lover of music brought me to acoustics. Working for Russell Johnson (the modern master of architectural acoustics) in his firm Artec Consultants, Inc. in New York, gave me the opportunity to listen in some wonderful new halls (such as the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas), and the opportunity to work on the design of some of the latest crop of truly great performance spaces (like the New Jersey Performing Arts Center) ...
