Description
Born into a musical family in London at the end of the Second World War, Townshend quickly found himself at the forefront of the British musical boom of the 1960's, as a member of one of the most rebellious, outspoken groups ever to emerge; The Who. Formed through a school friendship with John Entwistle and Roger Daltrey, dating back to the late 1950's, the band spent its formative years covering Jazz and Skiffle standards with the young Townshend performing admirably on banjo. Those early years saw the band go through a couple of name and personnel changes, including the recruitment of one, Keith Moon. The changing face of the music scene, however, and in particular the emergence of Lennon and McCartney, meant that group's could no longer rely on cover versions and were required to produce original work in order to compete. In the case of The Who this responsibility fell mainly on the shoulders of Pete Townshend....

Jimmy D. Lane, son of legendary Blues Guitarist, Jimmy Rogers. Blues performer from Salina, Kansas. Performing Blues at festivals, nightclubs and corporate events worldwide.
At the age of eight, Jimmy began playing his dad's guitar, which he wasn't supposed to do.

"I would break a string and put it back in the case like he wasn't going to discover it," Lane recalls. Shortly after that, Lane received a Gibson Acoustic from John Wayne. The Duke gave it to Shakey Jake, who was Wayne's driver, to give to Lane. "I would try to play along to a Bobby Blue Bland album" Lane states. He also wanted to join in with his dad and all those old cats that stopped by to "drink, tell lies and jam." Lane, however, would not get serious on the guitar until much later. Lane got discouraged from playing after the Gibson got smashed, and didn't play for a while.

In the early '80s at the age of seventeen, Lane did a stint in the 101st Airborne Division, the "Screaming Eagles" ...

The official home page for Numavox Records and Kerry Livgren - with Warren Ham, Jamie and Chris Kearney, Bleu Adams, Jabberwockie, AD and Michael Gleason.
Founded in 1994 by Kerry Livgren, Numavox records started as the primary label for his composition and recording projects following his work with Kansas. After moving from Atlanta Georgia back to his childhood home of Topeka, Kansas, Kerry followed the label formation with the construction of a new recording facility.

Numavox's studio occupies a large barn on Livgren's farm. While the outside may look like other buildings in the area, hay is the last thing you'll find inside. Featuring a spacious live room, vocal booth and cavernous control room, the studio provides a focal point for Kerry's own musical work, as well as his work with other artists.

The Numavox catalog includes work from Kerry and other artists, and related projects are distributed through Numavox. In this way, the label serves not only a role for its artists, but as a nexus for others who work with them. Combining work with his label, his music, outside projects and other artists, Numavox records and its studio are always busy—sometimes almost too busy for Kerry, who also balances his farm, study and family life in one environment.

This past year saw the release of The Best of Kerry Livgren, celebrating two decades since his first solo album. A contemporary retrospective, the CD highlighted his diverse songwriting and composition, both past and current. Proto-KAW, an album of Kerry's songs performed by Kansas II (the band which preceeded the familiar Kansas), was released later in 2002 by Cuneiform records, to wide acclaim. The sequel, an album of newly recorded songs by the original members, was released in April of 2004 on Inside Out records ...

Paul Nelson was influenced early on by such guitar players as Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Michael Schenker and Billy Gibbons as well as fusion players Allan Holdsworth, Larry Carlton, Tommy Bolin and blues great Albert King. An exceptional guitarist, producer, arranger and songwriter, Paul is equally at home with rock, funk, blues, jazz, and pop and just about anything else that crosses his path! While attending Berklee College of Music, he became one of Steve Vai's first guitar students soon after he joined the band Liege Lord who then signed with Metal Blade Records. Paul co wrote and performed on the band's two most popular classic power metal albums. These releases were "Burn to My Touch" produced by Joe Buchard of Blue Oyster Cult and "Master Control" produced by the great Terry Date, known for his work with Nirvana, Sound Garden, Def-Tones, Pantera. Also released was Metal Blade's Vol. 3 compilation album distributed by Enigma / Capitol. These releases led to Paul being featured in magazines that "I could only have dreamed of seeing myself in when I first started out as an aspiring guitar player." He has since appeared in literally hundreds of magazines and on radio stations world wide, some of the most notable being Billboard, BBC, TCG, Circus, Guitar One, Kerrang, Rock Hard, Total Rock, About.com and Scream and fanzines, too many to count, along with appearing in 5 music documentary books ...
