The official website of Scott Dean the Australian drummer. View the photo gallery, download mp3 files, browse the gig list, sign the guest book, etc and learn more about Scott Dean, his musical philosophies and his fusion band “Indaba”.
When I read my "Baby book" that my parents had prepared for me,
it said that at the age of three years old I was humming all
the guitar solos to the music they would play on the radio etc.

I guess it started way back then. I have always had an intense
passion for music, but gladly i didn't pursue the guitar..haha

My brother and I recieved our first drumkit in about 1978.
With brotherhood comes competitiveness, and we both pushed
each other to improve and out-play the other.
My brother, Trent Bryson-Dean is an amazing drummer now by any standard.

Anyways, we destroyed our first drumkit pretty quickly, leaving me
to play many an hour on a beanbag we had in our loungeroom,
whilst listening to music such as Led Zeppelin or the Police
with headphones on.

We finally got another drumkit in about 1983. What a wait that was!
I had figured many things out without a drumkit and things came
very naturally to me on my new blue Tama Swingstars.

Two years of hard practice and I was in my first Rock N' Roll band.
I haven't looked back ever since!

At first I was totally a rock pig, but my entire idea of the drums
changed when i heard the Chick Corea album "Inside Out".

Dave Weckl's playing was something i had never experienced
and I was forever destined to be a fusion musician after hearing "Inside Out" ...

Toni Cannelli first entered the world of professional drumming 21 years ago at the age of 17. He has performed with many artists including Mac and Katie Kissoon, and top U.K. guitarists Jim Mullen and Gary Boyle.

In 1987 Toni set up The Drummers' Alliance, an organisation to promote drums and percussion. The Drummers' Alliance has set up, and run four of the U.K's biggest drumming events in the form of National U.K. drumming competitions.

In 1990 Toni Cannelli joined forces with Sabian cymbals, Remo drums and Vic Firth sticks.

As an educator and clinician, he has performed over 200 drum workshops including the first Scottish drum festival, alongside U.S. drummer Gregg Bissonette. He has also performed joint drum clinics with Ricky Lawson (Michael Jackson's drummer), Jim Chapin (Top Drum Educator), Mike Mangini (drummer for Steve Vai and Extreme), Akira Jimbo (Japan's number 1 drummer!) and world famous drummer, Dennis Chambers.

Toni Cannelli does private teaching in Sheffield (U.K.) His ex-students have gone on to play with artists such as Chaka Khan, S Club 7, Coolio, Spice Girls, and Moloko. Tony is also a regular contributor to U.K. drumming magazine, Rhythm.

Information about drummer Austin McMahon, including biography, pictures and audio.
Austin McMahon was raised in northern New Jersey, USA and began playing the drumset
at age fourteen. Immediately after acquiring a drumset of his own, he began to study with
Tommy Igoe, currently known for his work as drummer/assistant musical director on Broadway

numerous other young musicians interested in pursuing careers in Jazz.

After graduating from Roxbury High School, Austin was invited to attend the University of
Miami (Florida) on a music scholarship.

While based out of Miami, Florida, Austin quickly became active in the live music scene.
Austin developed his sound with many other students from the University playing in a wide
variety of musical situations including: A two year residency with the reknowned University

Become a Better Drummer - Jamie Kuijpers of Australia holds professional drum clinics to inspire and motivate drummers.
I was born 21st of May, 1971 as James Kuijpers (although I was only EVER called James when I was being told off! - Jamie is what it turned into). I started playing music when I was just 5 years of age, beginning with guitar and throughout my teenage years I performed in cover and original bands and created lots of music (or in some cases noise!!). Whilst at high school I was shown how to play a VERY basic 4/4 beat on a kit and suddenly my desire to play percussion grew and a new hobby was born.

While spending a number of years (13 to be exact!) working in the music retail industry and teaching private guitar students, I found that I began to play more and more kit and less guitar. Then, when I left the retail industry to work with Music Link (Australian distributors for Pearl, Zildjian and loads of other brands), I finally made drums my main instrument and continued to perform regularly in the Adelaide music scene. I have spent the past 5 years working with the worlds leading musical instrument manufactures including, Pearl, Zildjian, Latin Percussion, Remo, and Vic Firth. In that time I have had an amazing opportunity to travel the world, meet and learn from some of today’s finest musicians and business people including Karl Lewis of Savage Garden, Terrepia Richmond of The Whitlams, John Otto of Limp Bizkit, Virgil Donati, Steve Smith, Grant Collins, Dom Famularo, Alejandro Vega, Vic Firth, Debbie Zildjian and Remo Belli ...
