Description
Shergold Guitars: "The Shergold set-up is aggressively British. The Company was established by two craftsmen, experts in their respective fields who were to an extent frustrated by building a wide variety of guitars under trade names. They decided, in popular jargon, to do their own thing...to make instruments which would embody the results of their comprehensive experience...to prove that "Britain can make it" and at a price which will benefit the consumer."

David Whiteman Guitars:
The guitars I make are precisely constructed, handmade from the finest materials to produce a finely balanced instrument with a firm, even response. I'm very selective when choosing timber to make a guitar, and reject over 80% of what I see when buying wood.

This attention to detail is continued in every aspect of my guitars, from the handmade rosettes, each individually designed and assembled, to the traditional French polish finish ...

I make guitars for concert musicians, professional teachers and keen enthusiasts, and have sent guitars to America, Japan, and throughout Europe and Scandinavia. The building of one of my guitars was the subject of the television documentary, The Guitarist and his Maker with recitalist Richard Durrant.

The Classical Guitar: Where tradition meets technology in Classical Guitars, by Luthier Jeremy Locke.
I began building classical and flamenco guitars around 1980. My first guitar was a steel string guitar and it is still in use today. At that time I had no real fine wood working experience and very few tools. Today most tasks are still done by hand by me, very few machines are used. I also prefer to make only one guitar at a time. In every new guitar I make small changes as I seek to continually improve the sound and playability of each instrument. My workshop is in Queensland, Australia. I have a family with one son Daniel, 10 years old, partner Cheryl (age not readily available), and my two faithfull German Shepherds buddies have recently passed away. Life in the shop is not what it used to be without their company. Classical guitars are an important part of my life. I have studied the piano, music, guitar making and guitar playing extensively. My most significant guitar teacher was Jason Waldron in Adelaide. Jason is one of Australia's finest guitarists and teachers. Being a good player allows me to properly evaluate my instruments, and more importantly it allows me to enjoy them as they are made.

I travel extensively with my instruments and have exhibited often at guitar Festivals like the Healdsburg guitar festival, the GFA festival in the USA and Nurtingen in Germany. In 1999 one of my guitars was chosen to be part of the First prize at the prestigious GFA festival in Charleston, USA ...

J'avais alors treize ans.
