Sound Bridge Acoustic Labs
Sound Bridge Acoustic Labs
Description
SBAL is committed to providing the finest quality speaker products available in today's Pro Touring, Install and MI Markets. This is accomplished by stressing value to the consumer, support to the dealer and commitment to the marketplace.
Sound•Bridge was formed on January 1st, 1994. SB began with six entry-level products targeted at the MI Market. Simultaneously the parent company of SB, Surplus Technology Group, Inc. was flourishing under the direction of President I. Christopher Cole. As a result of the tremendous growth in the computer industry STG had to become the primary focus of Chris' energies for a season causing SB to be set aside for almost three years.
In August 1996 Chris refocused his attention on his first love, Sound•Bridge. He renamed the company Sound•Bridge Acoustic Labs and began working diligently on the company's rebirth. Prior to this time Sound•Bridge had not been actively involved in Research and Development. In August of 1996 Chris hired the needed expertise to complete the R&D on SBAL's first product line - the series 3000. SBAL attended its first trade show and introduced its first eleven products at the winter NAMM show in 1997. Based on an exceptional market reaction, Chris realized that SBAL was an extremely viable product line. He began investing in further R&D.
To facilitate production and development SBAL purchased a CNC router. This brought SBAL into state of the art speaker manufacturing technology. With further investment, research, and computer aided tools SBAL began adding new product lines at an incredibly rapid pace. SBAL currently has over seventy products and is continuing to develop new products on a monthly basis.

FMR Audio: Home of the Really Nice Compressor and Preamp.

Founded in 1997 by the husband and wife team of Mark and Beth McQuilken as a means to produce and distribute the Really Nice Compressor (RNC), FMR Audio has been in the making for years. Mark and Beth have been high-tech design consultants under the name of Electronic Design Services (EDS) since 1986, providing cost-effective electronic designs and design support for such companies as RCA, Motorola, Lockheed Martin, Boston University Center for Space Physics and BMW, to name a few. Throughout it all, Mark's audio-design and audio-production projects punctuated their otherwise normal industrial existence ...

The Sound Physics Labs SPL-td1 is a unique combination of compact size and extended coverage capabilities, designed by Thomas Danley to deal with the real world problems faced by systems contracting professionals every day.

The SPL-tdl is a distinctive multiple entry horn. Precise mechanical time correction is achieved through proper placement of transducer exits along the body of the horn. The size, angle, and spacing of these apertures was mathematically determined using a proprietary new modeling system. The mathematical model used allows scaling to whatever size may be required. The final voicing was done using both industry standard measurement and subjective analysis. As a result the SPL-tdl has excellent, documented polar response, and subjectively delivers an unusually neutral sonic presentation. What you hear is the signal not the loudspeaker!

The SPL-td1/Sub is a compact, high-output subwoofer designed to fit in the same cabinet as the td1 making the system easily arrayable. Endowed with the same shape, size and flying hardware as its predecessor, the td1/Sub extends the low end of the series and is perfect for situations requiring low-frequency directivity with a small speaker array.

THE WORLD'S MOST POWERFUL SUBWOOFER.
All ServoDrive loudspeakers incorporate a unique, patented operating principle involving the substitution of high-speed rotary servo-motor and belt-drive system for the traditional loudspeaker voice coil/magnet transducer system. The concept was created by renowned engineer, Thomas Danley. In the years since their introduction, ServoDrive subwoofers have heightened the awareness of the tremendous effect massive low frequencies have in both fixed installations and touring sound applications.

ServoDrive's BassTech 7s provide more sound pressure level capability than any other subwoofer on the market. Features include: exceptionally low harmonic distortion, true high-fidelity performance, virtually no output loss due to power compression, frequency response virtually flat to below 28Hz, extraordinarily efficient - low power requirement for full SPL output. The BassTech 7s display smooth frequency response (essentially flat from crossover frequency down to 28Hz). Revolutionary motor-driven belt design increases linear excursion and efficiency, handles large low-frequency peaks without damage or sonic compromise.

The BassTech 7s have been on tour with the Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, U2, Garth Brooks, Phish, and Lyle Lovett. From Super Bowl half-time shows, to Disney World, Universal Studios, the Mirage Volcano, Buccaneer Bay at Treasure Island, Crystal Cathedral, and Blumenthal Theater - wherever crowds gather, these subwoofers are guaranteed to bring a new level of excitement!

The Model 2030 Mastering Dynamic Gain Control is a precise tool for mastering and other critical applications where the utmost in control, flexibility, and transparency is demanded. Based on the proven GML Series III control and audio architecture, this no-compromise dynamic range controller continues the GML engineering tradition and expands familiar Model 8900 capabilities, including multi-channel operation.
Twenty-two years of progressive research into loudness perception resulted in a limiter/compressor unlike any other. The 8900 Dynamic Range Controller was intrinsically developed to react to loudness (rather than volts) like our ears do. The 8900’s psycho-acoustic approach uses multiple true-RMS detectors, remarkably accurate log converters, and fast peak detectors to respond intelligently to real signal energy, not just level. This unusual design employs unique controls, like Crest Factor, Timing, and Release Hysteresis to access the parameters that you really want to adjust. Familiar features such as Stereo Link, Soft/Hard Knee, Ratio, Output Level, as well as the comprehensive 40- segment tricolor Gain/Loss metering have been carefully optimized for flexible, creative control over a wide dynamic range with a lack of audible artifacts. Very useful is the Side Chain Input that permits external frequency shaping to be introduced into the detection circuitry. The entire audio path is all-discrete, including the VCA, for unsurpassed transparency and low-level resolution. The 8900 packs all of this in a formidable 2U, two-channel unit which requires requires the external GML 9015 Power Supply.
Brought to you from the man who invented the very concept of Parametric Equalization, the 8200 has been an industry standard for over twenty years, and can be found on virtually every major recording studio’s stereo bus. Each of the five broadly-overlapping bands offers 15dB of Boost or Cut and adjustable bandwidth (or “Q”) from 0.4 to 4. The lowest and highest bands also can be switched to Shelf mode. Quite simply, the 8200 is the archetype Stereo Parametric Equalizer. Its extraordinary resolution, benchmark transparency, generous headroom, and surgical precision have been the reference for many other equalizers, but exceeded by no other. It fits into a 2U, 19" space and requires the external GML 8355 Power Supply.
The 9500 is the Mastering Version of the 8200. The Gain, Frequency, and Q controls are fully-detented for absolute precision and repeatability. With 1/2dB steps of Boost and Cut and 24 different frequency choices per band, the 9500 is a powerful and comprehensive workhorse for Mastering Engineers around the world. This dual-mono, 3U “King of All Equalizers” requires two 8355 power supplies.
Four Channel Microphone Preamplifier
Two Channel Microphone Preamplifier
The 2020 is GML's latest mono blockbuster combo of the legendary 8300 Mic Pre, a 4-band version of the 8200 Parametric EQ, and a complete 8900 Dynamic Range Controller. Additional enhancements not found in the stand-alone units include: Mic, Line, and Direct Instrument input selection, front panel mounted 2-Pole High Pass Filter, Phase Reverse, and Phantom Power switches, as well as accurate LED input metering. From -10dB of attenuation up to a whopping 70dB of amplification, Input Gain is selectable in precise 5dB steps accommodating all sources from low output ribbon mics through semi-pro keyboards to inserts in super hot mastering chains with one knob. Both the EQ and Dynamics sections are independently bypassable and up to eight 2020 units can be linked for multichannel work. Especially useful about the 2020 is the way the 8200 EQ section can be placed either before or after the 8900 Dynamics section, or inserted into the Side Chain at the flick of a switch. This feature alone makes the 2020 an extremely flexible recording tool. A rugged 2U chassis houses all these fabulous features together. The 2020 requires one 9015 external power supply..
