the offical home page of guitarist/songwriter Leni Stern and her indie label, Leni Stern Recordings (LSR).
Born in Munich, Germany, Leni started playing piano at the age of sixand guitar at eleven. At seventeen, she formed her own acting company. Her radical productions sold out houses across Europe and attracted pressand TV coverage. In 1977, she turned her attention to music and left forthe United States to study film scoring at the Berklee College of Musicin Boston. Film scoring gave way to her love for guitar and in 1981, Lenimoved to New York City to play in a variety of rock and jazz bands. In1983, she formed a group of her own with Paul Motion on drums and BillFrisell on guitar. Leni’s 1985 “Clairvoyant” was her first solo instrumentalrecording. Eight albums and 12 years later, in 1997, she released “BlackGuitar,” her first vocal full-length release ...

Guitarist Paul Jackson Jr. keeps an intense, breakneck schedule. In addition to the demands of being a Grammy nominated solo artist, Jackson is a highly in-demand sideman and session player. In the two years since he released The Power of the String, his last Blue Note recording, the popular guitarist performed in the television special Diva Las Vegas (behind Cher, Shakira, Mary J. Blige and Whitney Houston, with whom he toured throughout the Nineties), participated in the Billboard Awards tribute to Jam Master Jay, composed music for the film Undercover Brother with Stanley Clarke, and contributed to the TV hit Cedric the Entertainer. In the midst of all that activity, the deeply spiritual Jackson continues to seek quiet time in which to listen to the “still small voice” of God. Those moments played a key role in the creation of his sixth solo album, so it was only “super” natural that he titled the extraordinary project, Still Small Voice.
A great benefit of being on the short list of top-flight versatile session and live performance musicians is forging relationships with the best producers and performers in his chosen genres. His 1996 classic Never Alone/Duets featured high profile collaborations with legendary pals Kirk Whalum, Joe Sample, Jeff Lorber, Earl Klugh, Ray Parker Jr. and Gerald Albright, while The Power of the String included guest spots by Boney James, Mervyn Warren and Patrice Rushen. Some of the contributing “voices” to the new project are Lorber (who also co-produced “Sportsman Park” with Jackson), Albright, bassist and fellow Houston tour member Ricky Minor, electric piano/keyboard greats Rushen, Billy Preston, Ricky Peterson and Brian Culbertson, the Earth, Wind & Fire horn section (Ray Brown, Gary Bias and Reggie Young) with the addition of Patches Stewart and Andy Wiener, and percussionist Sheila E. Jackson produced six tracks on his own, and tandem on others with Alan Abrahams, Brian Culbertson and James Reese (a songwriter and friend from Jackson’s childhood growing up in South Central L.A.) ...

Home page for acoustic guitarist David Allison:
Scottish celtic acoustic guitarist David Allison welcomes you here to sample his music, watch videos, download some mp3s, read about his looping techniques, find out about his various guitar tunings, and what's going on in his music career.
A new DVD and video "The Edge of the World" is now out.
"A great musical score" Empire magazine.

David Allison is one of Scotland's most talented and innovative acoustic guitarists. His strong, self penned melodies are backed up by a creative use of real-time sampling and looping, resulting in rich textures of sound live on stage. Improvisation is increasingly becoming a feature of his live shows.
Audiences from Hollywood in California to Rostov-on-Don in Russia and from Andalucia to Berlin have warmed to his unique approach to making music.

Nearer home David has performed at festivals such as Glasgow's Celtic Connections, the Edinburgh Fringe, Kirkmichael international Guitar Festival, and the International Guitar Festival of Great Britain, as well as frequent appearances on radio and television. He recently featured in a Scottish Television documentary about the acoustic guitar alongside Martin Taylor and Gordon Giltrap.

A DVD "The Edge of the World" about the remote island of St Kilda and featuring David's music was released by the British Film Institute in 2004. Empire magazine reviewed David's contribution as "a great musical score". "The Sea Harvesters" is another DVD with a soundtrack from David. It's a rare collection of archive films telling the story of deep sea fishing off Scotland in the 30's and 40's.

His groundbreaking album "Acoustic Movies" featured a CD ROM section, including a seven minute in-concert video and other multimedia material ...

Joe Larson - banjo
From soulful melodic banjo playing to hard driving three finger jump style rolls, Joe Larson leaves no string or fret untouched on the banjo ...

Kelsie Westfall - Acoustic Bass

Playing acoustic bass in a bluegrass band has been the up front thought for Kelsie for sometime and D.O.5. has opened that door for him to play the BIG strings. Kelsie provides the big string driving sound and back up vocals for the D.O.5. Band and endorses Labella Bass Strings
Marke Richardson - Guitar

Singer, songwriter Marke Richardson helps make up the D.O.5. sound and brings it front and center. Marke takes on the job of playing guitar for D.O.5. and is endorsed by Elixir Strings.
Dennis Haycraft - Mandolin

When it comes to singing and playing on the mandolin, D.O.5. no doubt found the guy that can make it happen. Playing and singing just about all styles of music, Dennis Haycraft can take the mandolin and make it into a deadly weapon with his ability to fire down with solid mandolin chops to rapid fire picking on songs running warp speed.

Even at warp speed playing, all is under control with pick close at hand.

Dennis endorses GHS Mandolin Strings.
