Stookley Guitars:
My love affair with the Guitar dates back to my teen years when I received my first instrument a "Silvertone Electric" as a Xmas present and I have been enthralled with the instrument ever since. In later years I started designing and building custom guitars for individual clients as well as selling on the Internet under the banner of "Stukely Guitars". Over the years business has grown to the point where we have had to outsource some of our operations in order to keep up with demand and I am excited to showcase our newly designed Website, along with a new Company name "Stookley Guitars" and a revamped line of instruments. In the coming months we will be re-introducing a number of models including the Solo 1, Solo 2, X-Terminator, and the top of the line Soloist. Whatever your playing style, be it jazz, blues, country or rock I'm sure you will find a Stookley model just right for you and once you have played a Stookly you will settle for nothing less. Don't forget also to check our line of quality Guitars Parts to kickstart that special instrument project you have been puttimg off ...
Garrison Guitars: Chris Griffiths was 12 years old when he first picked up a guitar. His professional interest in the guitar industry began at the age of 17, when he was trying to make a living as an amateur guitar repairman at a local music store. As a means of securing future employment within the industry, Chris apprenticed at the Gallop Guitar Hospital in Big Rapids, Michigan. Unfortunately, his professional education in guitar building did not equal the slowing local economy and Chris soon found himself out of a job. Equipped with the formal training and talent required to build guitars, he jumped feet first into the guitar in dusty...
In 1993, at the ripe old age of 19, Chris started his first company in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. Griffiths Guitar Works had a simple mission, to defy the recession by selling high end, custom built acoustic and electric guitars at a time when his home province was pegged as the poorest in Canada. Unbelievably, it worked! Griffiths Guitar Works has grown from a one-man repair shop to the largest custom guitar store in Atlantic Canada ...

Workshop of John Ray. Spanish guitarmaker Granada Spain.
Welcome to my workshop! It is located in the Realejo, one of the most traditional neighbourhoods of Granada, and close to the shops of Antonio Marin Montero, Paco Santiago Marin, Manuel Lopez Bellido and Rolf Eichinger. From the guitar makers in Granada I have learned the traditional spanish techniques, some of which are falling into disuse these days even in Spain. The sound of my guitars has opened up, acquiring a three-dimensional quality and they have become much more responsive instruments, able to meet the demands of any professional musician. At present I make a classical model, a flamenco model and a copy of Antonio de Lorca as well as Antonio de Torres.
Both my classical model as well as my flamenco guitar have developed through close study of great historical guitars. I have had the opportunity to study guitars made by Torres, Barbero, Lorca, Pages and Santos Hernandez. Any great maker must first learn from those who have gone before and then spend years defining a personal style and sound. I find myself in the second part of that journey and it is immensely satisfying especially when my ideas are shown to fit with the needs of great guitarists ...
Conklin Guitars and Basses has become known for its many unique creations
and exclusive innovations, but nothing sets us apart from the pack like our
magnificent "Melted Tops". Early in 1990, Bill began experimenting with
using several different species of wood to make a guitar top; something that
would be in sharp contrast to the standard bookmatched top. After playing
around with inlaying and intarsia he came across a woodworking method that
had been used in old-school furniture manufacturing and the light went on
in his head. He realized he could adapt this technique to making guitar tops
(as well as fingerboards, headstock veneers and even pickguards). Excited
at the prospects, Bill and his partner Phil Goschy made drawings of simple
but elegant free-flowing graphics that followed the traditional lines of
their Sidewinder and Crossover guitar and bass bodystyles. From there they
developed the process of joining various species of exotic woods to create
stunning "organic graphics" with visually stimulating contasts, that portray
movement, harmony and excitement ...
