Josephson Engineering makes a wide range of fine condenser microphones for studio, stage and field sound pickup, and audio instrumentation. In the process of developing our own mics, we've come up with special technologies that let us realize designs that weren't possible in classic mics of years past. We have a standard product line that covers many applications, but if there's a microphone you need that we don't make, we'll either tell you about the best one we know of for that job, or make it for you ourselves. Tech Notes are our way to communicate specific technical recommendations on selection and use of microphones. Some are available online and more are in the works, including Jurg Jecklin's paper about using the Optimum Stereo System disk. If you have a question about mic design or application, let us know.

We are compiling a list of microphone technique notes that describe some of the better approaches and how to use them.

5. Bluesbox
Artesanía de Blues Box manufactures, intalls, distributes and sells equipment for sound reinforcement, of the highest available quality, branded by both Blues Box and W&dB.
Artesanía selects the very best wood and components from the best manufactures such as: Fane, Beyma, B&C, Volt, RCF, JBL o McCauley.
The equipment manufactured holds a high degree of quality construction and attention to small details.
When in the Autumn of 2000 Sergio Castro contacted Alejandro Díaz, looking for a cabinet maker to build a new pair of Reflexion Arts Monitors (designed by acoustician Philip Newell), a new cicle of collaborations between both companies started and soon led to the birth of a new company: Artesanía de BluesBox S.L.
W&dB had been dedicated for several years to the design and manufacture of loudspeaker boxes for installation and small PA. Reflexion Arts commemorates in 2004, 20 years of an intense carreer of investigation and development on studio monitor systems, whilst building at the same time some of the best European studios.
In 2001, W&dB attended the Madrid Broadcast show, invited to the Reflexion Arts booth and in 2003, both companies attended together with a much larger stand.
From then on, it seemed that creating the new company was the logical step forward: Artesanía de BluesBox. One of the first products introduced by the new BluesBox brand was the BB412, a guitar speaker box, of conventional layout, but with highly impressive specifications. So impressive that blues guitarist Javier Vargas considered it "The Rolls Royces of guitar speakers".
