The Swingtips:
Everyone who has ever seen the Swingtips perform knows how much fun it is to be a part of the band's live, interactive shows. Audiences of all ages find themselves laughing, singing, dancing, and even performing on stage with the band in the tradition of Vaudeville’s golden age of variety entertainment. This is what the Swingtips are all about - good times, good music and good people.
The Swingtips can be traced back to Kregg Barentine, who in 1992 was responsible in part for the Zony-award winning 1930-40’s swing revue, The All-Night Strut, which played to sold-out crowds each night. Soon after, Barentine was offered a touring spot with The Glenn Miller Orchestra playing saxophone, clarinet and flute in ’93 and ’94 ..
Members of the Swingtips are: Kregg Barentine- lead vocals and saxophone; Jim VanWagoner- piano and vocals; Scott Yandell- trumpet; Gregg Delfiner- drums; and John Willis- bass.
Originally from South Carolina, Michigan, California and Arizona, these swingin' cats have performed over the years with such greats as Ray Charles, Ernie Watts, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, and King Curtis. You definitely wont want to miss a Swingtips performance, as their music will keep you tapping your feet and dancing all night long!
