Gitarrenatelier Traudt:
The following pages should give a small look into my work as guitar luthier. Each instrument is built by hand and is a unique instrument which possesses its own "personality".
It is not in my style to use big words to describe my instruments. They may speak for themselves bringing joy for the musician and the listener.
My job is to take the components such as tone expectations, choice of woods, artistic and esthetic touch, together with experience, to compose an instrument of full character.
The musician "opens" the instrument and breathes life into it. Through this act the instrument becomes a well of inspiration ...
Royal and Chilcott Custom Guitars Homepageguitar-maker,
Kevin Chilcott was apprentice to one of the luminaries of British Guitar making - Chris Eccleshall. After leaving his apprenticeship to become a Professional Luthier - between 1981 and 1989 it is estimated he "made by hand"(*) over 125 custom built guitars - Acoustic, Semi-Acoustic & Electric including 12 Thru-Neck Electric Basses. This averages over 15 guitars per year for the period, but
the first few years were very 'lean' as you would expect from a small new business, however over 40 were hand-built in the last 12 months of production between 1988 & 1989.
In 1982 he exhibited his guitars for the first time - This was at the First British Guitar Show, held at The Royal Festival Hall in London, England. ...
Gadow is taking music back to its roots. Great American music has always been a grass roots phenomenon. It’s about jam sessions held in garages, basements, smoky roadhouses and country churches. It’s raw, authentic, honest and real. At Gadow, that’s what we respect. And that’s why we do what we do.
Our roots are in the South too, where American rock, country, blues, gospel and bluegrass were born and raised. Like all the great bands we admire, we’re small, tight and focused. Why? So we can obsess over every handcrafted electric guitar and bass we make, and still have time to make a little music with our friends.
Ryan Gadow, president and luthier of Gadow Guitars, began building guitars in 1994. Ryan is responsible for instrument design and production.
Ryan's motivation for building his own guitars was an obsession with high quality workmanship combined with exquisitely clean tone. His instrument designs provide simple, stylish looks, while delivering pure, clean tone and playability ...

Schramm Guitars:
David Schramm is the son of a college business professor and an artist. At an early age he began musical studies of the violin, piano, trumpet, trombone, and baritone horn. Growing up he built his own toys out of wood and had a fascination with wood carving ...
Welcome, and thanks for visiting the Ambush Custom Bass web site. I appreciate your interest in my basses. As musicians, we all search for that instrument which will allow us to express our inner voice. An instrument that is versatile, yet has a voice of its own. One that challenges us to higher levels of performance, while quickly becoming a familiar friend. I believe the Ambush Custom Bass is that instrument; I hope that you will, too.
I've combined the best of the old and new to create a bass for the times. The bodies are made from proven tone woods like Ash and Alder laminated with exotic wood tops in the interest of modern esthetics. The necks are made from a graphite reinforced composite, are topped with resin impregnated wood fingerboards, and feature an adjustable truss rod. This advanced approach is balanced by the fact that these necks are made in a mold taken from a hard wood prototype I hand carved myself. You get a deadspot free, ultimately stable, adjustable composite neck with the feel of a limited production, handcarved instrument ...
