These were my father’s words when he founded the legendary Universal Recording Corp. in Chicago. The enduring quality of his recordings, studios and technical innovations are the reason industry veterans consider him the father of modern recording. But he was also my father.
Welcome to the new Universal Audio. Founded by my brother Jim and I, Universal Audio is dedicated to authentic reproductions of vintage analog equipment and innovative digital recreations of landmark technology.
Having grown up in the music industry, we naturally assumed that’s where we would remain. Jim, a touring musician and recording engineer, and our older brother Scott, a busy studio designer in Southern California, were the first to follow in my father’s path. I took a more circuitous direction, working in a number of engineering companies before undertaking my doctorate in Electrical Engineering at Stanford. It was there that I became closely involved in the Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA), specializing in signal processing....

AUDIO PERFORMANCE SA is a Swiss based designer and manufacturer of professional loudspeaker systems started in 1987 by Pierre-André Corthésy. He is one of the early pioneers of processor controlled loudspeaker system.
Located in Echallens (Switzerland) the facory houses its full operation including development, research, manufacturing, sales and marketing, technical support and systemdesign, shipping, accounting and administration. All loudspeaker systems, processors and amplifiers are built, assembled and tested in the factory assuring the best in quality and reliability.
The company's primary business is Touring Series, the fixed installation market, and Broadcast Series. Each line of products is designed and manufactured to offer the end-user a complete choice of products in his field of activity.
The concept behind each AUDIO PERFORMANCE product is to reproduce non coloured sound with no compromise regarding power capabilities, reliability or handling ease. This achievement requires, deep knowledge in the loudspeaker components domain used together with dedicated design software and a very solid experience that we, thanks to our expertise, are capable of offering.
Furthermore, our research department is active launching new products for these very demanding markets and responding to specific requests from our clients.
Our products are actually sold through a network of qualified distributors, based either in Europe or in Asia. Their various activities may include Audio Services (fixed installation, concerts organisation, ...), renting facilities and/or consulting in the Audio field.
